Surprised by Sparkle
When Robert took the ring and looked at it closely through his glasses, his expression shifted. I watched as he blinked rapidly, like he’d seen something unexpected.
“Uh, ma’am,” he said hesitantly, “this is quite the piece.” His eyes kept darting from the ring to me with a mix of surprise and curiosity.
I wasn’t sure what to make of it but stayed focused on my goal: selling it.
