Starting the workday
Once the kids were safely dropped off, I headed to my job at the local construction company. The hum of machinery greeted me as I walked onto the site, my steel-toed boots crunching gravel underfoot.

I waved to Jim, my supervisor, and began setting up for the day. Despite the physical toll, I found solace here, where my mind could shift away from the worries of home, even if only briefly.
